The PIONEER 13.7m hull shape has plenty of beam aft and almost a flat bottom across the stern. This means that the hull runs clean at very low speed around 8/9 knots. The deep fine forefoot gives excellent penetration with a large built in spray deflector forward along the chine to stop the bow wave climbing up the flare. The construction is of plywood or double diagonal over frames and bulkheads with laminated bottom stringers, solid topside stringers, laminated rims, gunwales, etc., to give an exceptionally strong hull.
Diesel engines of up to 200 h.p. can be used. Twin 100 h.p. would give a top speed of 11/12 knots and twin 200 h.p. motors a top speed of 15 knots. Extra tanks are shown on the plans to increase the fuel capacity for long range cruising. The interior layout features a 2 berth cabin at the after end of the cabin. In the saloon there is a galley and large settee dinette and the wheelhouse area features a sliding door each side with helm position amidships, fold out chart table etc. with L shape settee to port. In the fore cabin there is a 2 berth separate cabin to port and WC area adjacent. Opposite there is a shower and toilet area with 4 berth fore cabin right forward. This design features covered in side decks and an extremely large flying bridge area.
The plan includes FULLSIZE TEMPLATES of the frames, stem, rims and transom plus detailed working drawings on hull construction, deck and cabin, engine set up, fuel tanks, propeller, shaft etc. The plan is in metric and imperial.
