This craft has been designed to take small diesel engines from 18 to 100 h.p. A 50hp Mitsubishi or similar, will give a top speed of 14 knots and a cruising speed of 10/11 knots in light trim. The hull is designed to be easily driven at low speeds with the minimum of fuss. This makes her very economical and a fuel consumption of approximately 12/14 m.p.g. could be expected. A 50 h.p. diesel propelling the craft at 10 knots would burn approximately V, g.p.h. This craft suits 2 to 1 reduction with a big propeller for best results.
The interior layout consists of two bunks forward, a WC and washhand basin just aft of this and dinette and galley as well as settee berth in the main cabin. The craft has a boarding platform with self-draining cockpit and stern door for easy access. A flying bridge can be fitted if desired.
The craft is constructed from 2 skins of 1/4" plywood over 11/2 x 11/ 2" stringers on the bottom at 7" spacings with 1 x7/8" stringers in the sides again at 7" spacings. The craft has a flare blow and a large built in anti-rolling chine to keep the hull stable in beam seas.
The plan includes FULLSIZE PATTERNS of the frames, stem, rims and transom plus detailed drawings of hull construction etc.
