The ENDEAVOUR is a semi displacement launch with increased overall beam to give wider walk around side decks. The craft features a large built in boarding platform with all the steering gear fitted in the platform itself. The bottom configuration of the craft has been changed slightly from some of our other displacement designs to increase the top speed of the vessel without any detriment to the displacement speed. This will ensure that the bow stays relatively low at planing speeds and that the wake is clean. The external deadwood has been carefully contoured to give maximum water flow to the propeller and it has also been designed for increased manoeuvrability at low speed to facilitate easy handling. The construction of the Endeavour is fibreglass cedar core with the bottom being 28mm thick cedar while the sides are 22mm thick cedar planks. The planking is applied over internal frames which are made out of a harder wood such as Kauri, Macrocarpa or similar and these frames are heavily radiused on their inside face and are coved to the planking so that they can be encased in fibreglass as well as the whole inside of the skin of the vessel. There are 4 large internal fore and aft girders which are slotted over the frames and these form the engine beds as well as providing fore and aft stiffness to the vessel and help to support the bottom planking. The deadwood is from 100mm solid timber which is thick enough to allow easy installation of the stern tube, propeller, shaft, etc.

The engine shown on the plan is a 3208 Caterpillar. The 200 h.p. Caterpillar would give a top speed of 17 knots and a cruise in the 9/14 knot range. Estimated h.p. required at 9 knots would be 78 h.p. Fuel consumption at 9 knots would be 3.8 i.g.p.h.

The plan includes FULLSIZE PATTERNS of the frames, stem, rims and transom plus detailed working drawings on hull construction, etc. The plan is in metric and imperial measurements.
