The ACCORD 11.58m is a double skin plywood craft designed for ease of construction by amateur and professional builders. The craft is double skinned in 7mm plywood and has been designed to give good stability and sail carrying power. With this design there is the alternative of three different rigs which include sloop, schooner and ketch. The reason for the variety of rigs is to make the design more versatile for different purposes. The sloop rig which undoubtedly would be the fastest all round rig is ideal for both racing and cruising. The ketch is a good cruising rig which divides the sail plan up into smaller areas making individual sails easy to handle and can set a considerable sail area for reaching. The schooner is an excellent cruising rig allowing a wide variety of sail choices and is an excellent reaching rig.

The interior layout makes the most of the centre cockpit configuration. Under the centre cockpit there is a large storage area which also houses fuel tanks. The after cabin gives privacy and the large centre saloon and galley is excellent for entertaining. The auxiliary motor is positioned right admidships under the table in the saloon for ease of accessibility and maintenance. A motor such as a 52 h.p. lsuzu or similar on 2 to 1 reduction will give a cruising speed under power of 8.5 knots. The fore cabin features a large two berth layout with ample room for storage under the bunks and there is a generous sail locker forard. The keel is fabricated from steel and internally filled with ballast to an all up weight of 4300 lbs.
