The RENDEZVOUS is a multi-chine steel sloop/cutter/ketch designed specifically for ocean cruising, based on our popular and proven Redhead design, and is a beamy hull with fine ends which has proved so successful. The craft has a long keel with the rudder hung on the aft end of the keel for maximum strength and safety. The ballast is poured internally in the keel using steel punchings or similar in concrete. The water and fuel tanks are housed in the keel area and if desired extra tanks can be fitted under the cockpit sole, bunks etc.

There is full headroom throughout the craft and there are several alternative interior layouts shown on the plan. The interior layout in a craft of this size is easily varied to suit individual requirements. The craft is constructed from 4mm plate for the hull and 5mm for the keel. This is over 75 x 5 frames with 40 x 5 internal webs. The frames are at 3 ft (.914m) centres and these are overlaid by 11/2 x 11/2 x 1/4" fore and aft angle stringers. The hull is constructed upside down on a simple building jig and pivoting points are shown on the plan to simplify turning over, sandblasting, welding etc. Motors up to 40 h.p. can be fitted. We recommend an offset engine installation position as this has proved extremely reliable and has no detrimental effect on the sailing ability of the craft. The Rendezvous can be sloop, cutter or ketch rigged if desired. The main rig shown on the plan is a sloop rig as this appears to be the most popular for a craft of this size.

The plan includes FULLSIZE PATTERNS of the frames and transom plus detailed working drawings of setting up the hull, general construction and building technique, plus written instructions. The plan is in metric and imperial measurements.
