The ONEIDA has been designed as a trailable traditional cruising yacht. She has a four berth layout with galley and under bunk WC. She has been designed to take a small inboard auxiliary of about 5 h.p. either petrol or diesel. The 5h.p. motor gives a top speed of 5.7 knots.

The rig is traditional yawl for this type of craft with well raked masts. The yawl rig allows the mast height to be kept relatively low for ease of rigging.

The craft is constructed over solid timber frames and the plywood is applied to fore and aft battens which gives a multi-chine semi round bilge effect. The craft is of extremely robust construction and is ideal for taking the bottom which makes it an excellent craft for exploring harbours, estuaries and tidal rivers as the shallow draught combined with a small inboard engine makes it a highly adaptable cruiser ideal for the fresh water fisherman or salt water coastal cruiser.

The plan includes FULLSIZE PATTERNS of the frames, stem and transom plus detailed drawings on hull construction, rig etc., plus written instructions.
