The ENTERPRISE is a coastal Cruiser designed to be fast and economical. This craft features a double bottom hull which is exceptionally strong yet easy to build. The cruising speed of this vessel is 15/30 knots. The hull shape is medium vee monohedron planning hull designed to be easily driven yet soft riding with excellent stability at rest. This craft is designed for 300 to 600 h.p. engines being either twins or single with total h.p. as indicated. The engines are located aft under the cockpit floor with plenty of room for shaft drive using surface piercing propellers, vee drives or I/O drives or if desired straight shaft drive, which would require compacting the internal accommodation slightly further forward. Twin 300 h.p. engines would give a top speed of 29 knots and a cruise of 24 knots. Fuel consumption would be equivalent to 1.5 nautical m.p.g. at 23 knots. This craft features a full headroom enclosed bridge with straight access from the cockpit into the bridge as well as a spiral staircase inside the craft giving access to the interior from the bridge. The interior layout calls for a king size double bed port aft with ensuite, shower and toilet and galley to starboard with a raised bridgedeck amidships featuring two settee bunks as well as a U shape settee and dinette. Forward in the fore cabin there is a large hanging locker, standard double berth and settee and ensuite. The headroom throughout is in excess of 6'6" with 6'3" in the bridge standing area. The construction is of double bottom laminated out of 2 skins of 15 mm plywood reinforced outside with 6 oz fibreglass cloth and internally between the plywood floors and fore and aft girders with a heavy laminate of chopped strand mat and woven rovings. There is a structural 15 mm thick plywood floor overlaying the fore and aft girders and floors. This is bonded to the hull with fibreglass. The underneath of this floor is fibreglassed and resined so that all the voids under the floor can be used as fuel, water tanks or holding tanks as required. This gives a large fuel and water capacity when necessary as well as giving exceptional structural strength to the hull. The topsides and side decks are 2 skins of 12 mm. The fore deck and cabin top structure is ply/foam/ply glassed on the outside.
The plan includes FULLSIZE TEMPLATES of the frames, stem and transom, plus detailed working drawings and written instructions. The plan is in metric and imperial measurements.
