The REGENT 20.116m is a twin engine displacement launch designed to give slightly better than pure displacement speeds yet still give exceptional seakeeping ability and economy.
The craft is constructed over sawn frames with laminated fore and aft bottom stringers and one piece topside stringers. There are laminated gunwales and rim as well as laminated chines and keelson for maximum strength. The hull is skinned with 3 layers of 1/2" (12mm) solid timber on the bottom applied double diagonally and 2 layers of 12mm on the sides applied double diagonally. The diagonal planks are normally from 6" (152mm) wide planks. All the planking is bonded together with either epoxy or resorcinal glue and the craft is fibreglassed externally and finished internally with epoxy resin. This vessel features a walk through engine room and has been designed for engines of 200/400 h.p. each depending on speed required. Twin 555 Cummins will give a cruising speed of 11.8 knots at 230 h.p. total output.
The interior layout can be altered to suit individual requirements. However, we have indicated a general interior layout which can be used as a starting point. The standard fuel tanks are approximately 1500 gals or 6900 litres which would give the craft ocean crossing capability. The vessel has been designed for a most economical speed of 9.6 knots at 105 h.p. which would give a fuel consumption of approx. 5 g.p.h. at this speed. The plan includes lines drawing with table of offsets, hull construction, deck and cabin, engine arrangement, fuel and water tanks and general construction drawings.
