The OSPREY is a large centreboard cruiser designed to be easily handled by a family with a rig that is relatively compact and could be used with a self-tacking jib for ease of handling. The craft is fully self-righting with a large amount of ballast on the outside of the keel to ensure this. The beam of 3.809m gives a tremendous amount of room below decks and gives a very spacious interior which takes full advantage of the 6ft headroom throughout.

The interior layout features two 2 berth cabins forard with a large saloon settee and a dinette which can increase the berths still further as well as two large quarter berths aft alongside the cockpit. There is a roomy galley set to one side as well as a chart table to starboard. The engine is fitted underneath the cockpit floor and there is plenty of room for access for maintenance, servicing etc. A motor such as a 20 h.p. diesel will give a maximum speed of 8 knots and a cruising speed of 6 knots at about half throttle. The construction is fore and aft stringers over bulkheads with a double diagonal skin in solid timber. This is reinforced internally with laminated ribs and floors which help to support the keel.

The plan includes FULLSIZE PATTERNS of the frames, transom and stem, plus detailed drawings on hull construction, internal construction, decks and cabin plus written instructions. The plan is in metric and imperial.
