The STRIKER is a deep vee runabout designed for fishing, skiing etc. It is suitable for a maximum of 4 adults or ideally for 2 using engines of 30 to 80h.p. The outboard motor can be mounted either in a well or on an approved external bracket. A 40 h.p. motor will give a top speed of 35 m.p.h. and a cruising speed of 30 m.p.h. in average trim. This deep vee hull features a large centreline lifting strake or flattened keel section as well as 2 lifting strakes each side on the bottom. The inner strakes are terminated just ahead of the transom so the craft achieves the ideal planing angle. The c/1 lifting strake helps to stabilise the craft in fore and aft trim in rough conditions. The hull design features a deadrise at the stern sections of about 20* and with the chine beam almost the same as the overall gunwale beam gives a good wide bottom section and in consequence excellent stability especially in rough water.

The hull construction consists of 2 skins of 6mm ply on the bottom over fore and aft girders. The topsides are constructed from 2 laminations of 4mm ply. The lifting strakes and keel strake are constructed from solid timber and the whole outside of the hull is glassed with 6 oz fibreglass cloth and epoxy resin. This gives an exceptionally strong, watertight hull. The deck design has been done specifically with sports, fishing and skiing in mind. This gives good access through the raised deck to the anchor well which is self-draining through the topsides.
