This craft is hard chine and is designed to give reasonable planing speeds with diesel power. The hull features a built in spray deflector on the chine, and flare bow with a knuckle in the sides for both appearance and to increase the effectiveness of the flare. The beamy hull has been designed to support the weight of the steel construction and medium diesel engines up to 200 h.p. A 150 h.p. Ford on 2 to 1 reduction would give a top speed of 17 knots and a cruising speed of 15/16 knots. The hull is constructed over frames and fore and aft stringers 1¹/₄ x ¹/₄"; and 3 x ¹/₄" for the frames. The hull is plated completely in V," steel plate and the flare is formed from diagonal strips 6 to 9" in width. This eliminates the need of difficult plate shaping and makes the craft relatively simply to construct. The craft features our gullwing after section for maximum lift in the stern area. The hull is constructed upside down on a simple building jig which makes welding of the plate comparatively simple. The interior consists of two bunks forward with toilet and wardrobe immediately behind. The saloon has galley, dinette and settee and the engine box is used as a table. The craft features a large cockpit for fishing but the cabin can be extended further aft if desired.
