The ECLIPSE 14.6m is a high performance hull with a medium vee 15° bottom basically parallel over the last third. These hulls are capable of being powered by conventional inboard diesels, surface drive, 110 or jet and the design has been aimed at the 20 to 30 knots cruise range. Twin 300 h.p. diesels will give an easy 25 knots and a maximum of around 30 knots with conventional drives. Fuel consumption at 25 knots would be approximately 22 imperial g.p.h. and at this speed you could expect just over 1 nautical m.p.g. The construction is double diagonal or plywood over frames, bulkheads and heavy laminated fore and aft stringers in the bottom and one piece stringers in the topsides. This is a well proven construction giving excellent drainage and easily maintained interior which is structurally sound. However, other forms of construction can be used such as Cedar core, end grain balsa or straight GRP.
The interior layout features a large saloon area with the flying bridge above. The saloon has sliding side windows for good ventilation. The galley is aft to port with fold out bed settee with plenty of space and storage. In the forward cabin there is a double cabin to port with the berth under the upstairs settee, ensuite, shower, toilet and 4 berth fore cabin. To starboard there is a separate toilet and large hanging locker, drawers etc.
The plan includes FULLSIZE TEMPLATES of the frames, stem and transom plus full working drawings, engine installation, layout etc. The plan gives metric and imperial measurements.
