The DEFENDER is a smaller version of our popular Liberty 10m. The craft has been designed to take a flying bridge. The Defender has an extremely flat propeller shaft angle of only 8° with the engine mounted amidships and covered by a small surround on top of which is the helm seat and instrument console. The Defender is constructed over conventional frames at approximately 941 mm centres and the frames are overlaid with laminated bottom stringers and one piece side stringers. The chines and gunwales are also laminated. The bottom is 2 layers of 9mm ply, and the topsides 2 layers of 6mm ply.
The craft is designed for 80 h.p. to 220 h.p. and a 100 h.p. diesel will give a top speed of 18 knots and a cruise 15 knots. The interior layout shows one 4 berth fore cabin to port with combined shower and WC.
The plan includes FULLSIZE PATTERNS of the frames, stem, rims etc. plus detailed drawings of hull construction, cabin construction etc. plus written instructions. The plan is in metric and imperial.
